Dev Anand, affectionately called as the evergreen actor of Bollywood, made viewers go crazy with his acting skills. He was the king in the filed of acting, in making movies and in directing too. A native of Gurdaspur, he has two popular filmmakers Vijay Anand and Chetan Anand as his siblings. His sister Sheel Kanta Kapur is mother of the internationally acclaimed film director, Shekhar Kapur.

Six of his films in which he acted along Suraiya, were super hits.
He was paired with Waheeda Rehman in the film Guide, which was his debut color movie. This movie was based on a novel penned by the popular writer, RK Narayan. Dev Anand showed his versatility by emoting romance, comedy, greed and salvation in this movie and was highly appreciated.
Marking his reunion with Vijay Anand, he made the film Jewel Thief, which featured the most glamorous ladies like Vyjayanthimala, Tanuja, Helen, Faryal and Anju Mahendru. Their 2nd collaborative venture, Johnny Mera Naam, was also a great success. He wore director’s hat with the movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna, which had the sensuous actress, Zeenat Aman. One more actress who was launched by Dev Anand was Tina Munim.
