This week, Marriage.com is covering everything from groomzillas, a rock and roll wedding, updates on the royal wedding’s Royal Registry, and one famous runaway bunny!
Another rock & roll wedding! ‘ And this time, it’s no surprise. After 11 years of dating, rumors HAD been milling around former Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher and longtime sweetheart Sara Macdonald for quite some time. The two finally tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony last weekend’at the Lime Wood Hotel in New Forest, England. The wedding party included celeb Russell Brand, who reportedly served as best man for the couple. It seems like almost everyone was there, except for Gallagher’s brother Liam’Noel and Liam have a notoriously volatile relationship, and their feud eventually caused the downfall and dissolution of Oasis in 2009.
Talk about a wedding gift! ‘It’s been confirmed! The world’s favorite royal couple has racked up more than $1.7 million dollars in their Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund, and they’ve only been married for eight weeks! Will and Kate decided to create this fund instead of receiving gifts’ AND personally chose the 26 charities that this fund will benefit. We love this wedding gift idea, and it seems like fans, friends, and family love it too’after all, they’ve been donating since day one! Despite the fact that they’ve been emptying their pockets, a recent survey showed that the royal wedding actually ‘improved [the] nation’s mood’. More than a third of Britons feel more patriotic since Will & Kate’s big day’ bravo to all of that!
Runaway bunny’ Well, there’s more news in the Playboy universe’apparently, former fianc’e Crystal Harris is keeping the $90,000 engagement ring (a whopping 3-carat diamond sparkler) given to her by Hugh Hefner! Although the runaway bunny tried to return the ring, Hef told her she could keep it, along with the Bentley he’d originally given her as a gift. Hefner did, however, take his dog, Charlie, back, and tweeted Monday, ‘It’s the start of a new day and a new week. And I’m happy to be single.’ Even though they split just a couple weeks ago, Hefner seems to be moving on quite fine from the heartbreak’and the Lifetime wedding special is a ‘go’ again! The marriage special will now have a ‘runaway bride’ theme and is expected to air in July.
Here comes the Groomzilla ‘ ABC news recently covered a story on the newest trend in the wedding world ‘ groomzillas. And no, it’s not a show’ it’s reality for many brides nowadays, apparently! Grooms are getting more and more involved in wedding planning with their beloved brides, and husbands-to-be want more of a ‘say’ or more of a voice when it comes to wedding details, from food, music, venues, and even the gown. The reasons behind this? Grooms want to help out their future brides, and want to have more input as they begin to cover wedding costs themselves. Or they could just be super excited for their big day as well’a day in which they commit themselves to their brides in front of friends and family. It’s a big deal, and we can understand why they would want to be involved in the biggest day of their lives! After all, why not have your best friend and lover as your partner-in-crime? We all know how much work wedding planning can be.
